How many marks do I need? Top Tips 1

Revision

  1. Self praise is no praise - Its no good just revising the parts of science that you really like or are good at. This will only be useful if the exam only covers those areas, which, it wont!! Therefore revise the areas that you are not very good at - the exam will ask lots of questions on these topics!
  2. When revising I have found that music and t.v. are a no no!! They really dont help. Trust me, I have ten years of exam revision experience and they are a hindrance (distraction).
  3. Take regular breaks say every half hour to forty five minutes. This will keep you fresh.
  4. Drink water, this help you concentrate better (however if you drink too much you will have to go to the toilet more frequently).
  5. Invite a friend round to help you and test you. Competition is very useful! They may also understand those tricky areas that you dont and explain them to you.
  6. Make a revision timetable!! When I did my G.C.S.E's I made one of these and they were very usefull. However try not to put all your subjects in one big block. I set aside the first 4 days for science and only spent a day and a half revising it- science overkill. Spread the subjects so that you do two subjects a day.
